Who can register for courses offered through the network?

All doctoral students at the network’s partner universities who have a valid doctoral study right at their home university can enrol for the courses presented in the Doctoral courses in Finland -webpage. In addition to the valid study right, the student must be registered as present at their home university. Before registering for the course, please check that the doctoral study right of your home university is valid until the completion of the course and the course is acceptable in your doctoral study plan.

When is registration open?

Registration times are course specific. Course registration must be done within the registration period indicated in the study information system of the target university. Please get to know the detailed registration times announced on description page of the specific Course.

How do you register for the courses?

Registration for either one or more courses is done using the Cross-Institutional Studies Service (in Finnish Ripa) of the student’s home university’s Peppi or Sisu study information system. For the registration, please check that:

1. You hold a doctoral study right at your home university and have registered as present.
2. You are eligible to enroll in the Course.
3. The registration period for the Course is open.
4. The course is acceptable as part of your Doctoral Study Plan

After registering in study information system at your home university, the right to study for the specific course at the target university is granted for you.

Course registration must be done within the registration period indicated in the study information system of the target university. After the course registration is completed, the course teacher accepts the students for the course.

On what basis are students selected for the course? What are the prerequisites for completing the courses?

In principle, the network’s courses are such that all those who register are accepted for the courses. However, some courses may have restrictions on the number of students, which affect how many students can be selected for the course through the network. You should check the course-specific selection criteria for each course.

It’s important for the student to think about their own qualifications to complete the course before registering for the course. Some courses may also have prerequisites for previous studies. Please check the qualifications in the course information.

How to cancel registration?

Your enrolment is binding. If you are unable to attend the course, cancel your enrolment. Please, follow instructions of you target university.

How do you get a performance mark for a completed course?

When you have successfully completed the course, the performance is recorded in the study information system of the target university. Your grade is transferred automatically to your home institution’s study information system.

Kuka voi ilmoittautua verkoston kautta tarjolla oleville opintojaksoille?

Opintojaksoille voivat ilmoittautua verkoston kumppaniyliopistojen kaikki jatkotutkinto-opiskelijat, joilla on voimassa oleva jatko-opinto-oikeus omassa kotiyliopistossa. Voimassa olevan jatko-opinto-oikeuden lisäksi opiskelijan tulee olla ilmoittautunut läsnäolevaksi omaan kotiyliopistoon. Ennen opintojaksolle ilmoittautumista tarkista, että kotiyliopiston jatko-opinto-oikeus riittää ajallisesti opintojakson suorittamiselle.

Milloin ilmoittautuminen on avoinna?

Ilmoittautumisaika on opintojaksokohtainen. Ilmoittautuminen on tehtävä opintojakson kuvauksessa ilmoitetun ilmoittautumisajan sisällä. Opintojaksokohtaiset ilmoittautumisaikoihin pääset Courses-valikosta.

Kuinka opintojaksoille ilmoittaudutaan?

llmoittautuminen yhdelle tai useammalle opintojaksolle tapahtuu opiskelijan kotiyliopiston Peppi- tai Sisu-opintotietojärjestelmän Ristiinopiskelu -palvelussa (Ripa). Ilmoittautumista varten tarkista, että:

1. Sinulla on jatko-opinto-oikeus kotiyliopistossasi ja olet ilmoittautunut läsnäolevaksi
2. Olet kelpoinen ilmoittautumaan opintojaksolle.
3. Opintojakson ilmoittautumisjakso on avoinna.
4. Voit sisällyttää opintojakson osaksi tohtorin tutkintoasi.

Kun olet ilmoittautunut kotiyliopistosi opintojärjestelmässä, sinulle myönnetään oikeus suorittaa opintojakso kohdeyliopistossa.

Ilmoittautuminen opintojaksolle on tehtävä kohdeyliopiston opintojärjestelmässä ilmoitetun ilmoittautumisjakson aikana. Ilmoittautumisen jälkeen opintojakson opettaja hyväksyy opiskelijat opintojaksolle.

Millä perusteilla opiskelijat valitaan opintojaksolle? Millaisia edellytyksiä opintojakson suorittamiselle on?

Lähtökohtaisesti verkoston opintojaksot ovat sellaisia, että kaikki ilmoittautuneet hyväksytään opintojaksolle. Jotkin opintojaksot saattavat kuitenkin rajoittaa opiskelijamäärää, mikä vaikuttaa siihen, kuinka monta opiskelijaa voidaan valita opintojaksolle verkoston kautta. Kannattaa tarkistaa opintojaksokohtaiset valintakriteerit jokaiselle opintojaksolle.

On tärkeää, että mietit omia valmiuksiasi suorittaa opintojakso ennen ilmoittautumista. Joillakin opintojaksoilla saattaa myös olla edeltäviä opintoja vaativia vaatimuksia. Tarkista siis kelpoisuusvaatimukset opintojakson tiedoista.

Kuinka ilmoittautuminen perutaan?

Ilmoittautumisesi on sitova. Jos et pysty osallistumaan opintojaksolle, peruuta ilmoittautumisesi. Seuraa kohdeyliopistosi ohjeita.

Kuinka suoritetusta opintojaksosta saa suoritusmerkinnän?

Kun olet suorittanut opintojakson, suorituksesi kirjaa kohdeyliopiston opintotietojärjestelmään. Suorituksesi siirtyy automaattisesti kotiyliopistosi opintotietojärjestelmään
